Splitting Seconds from Santa Cruz, California is a force to be reckoned with. Since 2002, these four guys have been pouring their hearts out into their music- and it shows! What once started as a part-time project, has blossomed into a full-time band. They write, record, and tour with great fervency, so it should come as no surprise that their recent offering, “In the Red”, on Lorelei records, has raised the ears of more than one discriminating listener.
“Into the Red” offers something for everyone as, Liam, Mike, Rob, and Rich, have successfully channeled the musical immediacy of bands such as the Clash, Operation Ivy, and the Descendents. The venerated voice that leads the aural assault, takes the listener on a wild ride replete with stops at all the right destinations – lost love, hope, fear, pain and death.
The band recorded this disc at the burgeoning studio, the Compound, nestled in the lush green hills of Ben Lomond, California. As of late, the studio has played host to bands such as Only Crime, Defiant Voice, and Los Dryheavers. The record, which was produced by Russ Rankin (Good Riddance) and Joe Clements (Fury 66), is available in stores now.
